Prosecute all corrupt leaders, BN or PH, says Masing

KUCHING - Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) has urged the new Pakatan Harapan (PH) government to prosecute all leaders and former ministers from Barisan Nasional (BN) and PH alike who are suspected of involvement in corrupt activities.

PRS president James Masing said if any wrongdoing had been done, “let the law take its course”.

“But there should not be any selective prosecution,” he said at a press conference after chairing the PRS Supreme Council meeting yesterday.

“Some of the PH people have to look at themselves, too. Don’t look at us only. PH leaders may not be the devils, but they are not angels, either.”

Masing’s PRS was the first party in the state BN coalition to support the election pledge of Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s PH government to bring corrupt politicians and organisations to book.

It was also the first BN party to congratulate Anwar Ibrahim on his release upon receiving a full pardon from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Masing said the PKR de facto leader deserved to be pardoned and freed, adding that Malaysia was governed by laws with no room for selective prosecution.
